A Message From
Dean Bajeux-Besnainou

Happy Autumn!

As I write this, we are in the full swing of the fall semester. Inside the Tepper School of Business, we hear student voices filling the classrooms and common spaces. Outside, leaves rustle underfoot while the brisk morning air signals the change of seasons. It is a robust, busy time of year on Carnegie Mellon University’s campus, and there’s no place I’d rather be.

I’m eager to share with you our first, digital-only issue of Tepper Magazine. On this dynamic platform, we commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Tepper School’s founding, discuss our new strategic plan: Building the Intelligent Future, and applaud the accomplishments of our students, faculty, and alumni.

In other news this semester, we welcomed 14 new faculty members to support the Tepper School’s continuous growth. We also welcomed 17 students in the first cohort of the Master of Science in Management program, bringing our total fall enrollment to more than 2,100 students, the largest in our history. And, we opened a new state-of-the-art classroom on the third floor of the Tepper Building to address the needs of our expanding programs.

We have more good news: U.S. News & World Report has rated our undergraduate business program No. 6, and our Full-Time MBA program has jumped to No. 9 in Bloomberg Businessweek’s latest ranking, marking our highest position from this outlet since 1990. These top-ten recognitions reflect our ongoing commitment to excellence in business education.

It is a great time to be a part of the Tepper School community, and I want to thank you for the vital role you play in it. Let us celebrate this new issue of Tepper Magazine!

With gratitude,
